Cloud-facts prefill for the machine-type form.

Cloud facts for the machine-type form’s prefill (machine-types.md Part A.4): vCPU/memory read from the Manager’s EC2 instance-type cache. With capacity ≡ vCPUs the prefill is authoritative for totalCapacity; operator override = deliberate derate.

"aws", "oci" or "cloud-hypervisor"; empty = "aws" (the only provider before 2026-09-29). For cloud-hypervisor the facts come from the host agents' shape lists and region is a host. A provider this Manager does not run answers FAILED_PRECONDITION.

region

Optional. An AWS region, or an OCI availability domain (what a pool tier’s region holds for that provider). Set, the response says whether the type is offered there; a region this Manager does not cover answers FAILED_PRECONDITION.

facts absent = the instance type is unknown to the cloud.
