Who and what a production is, for the identity its runtimes are given (norsk-ctl RFC 0007 section 4: NORSK_FLEET_ID, NORSK_TENANT_ID, NORSK_PRODUCTION_DISPLAY_NAME, NORSK_PRODUCTION_TEMPLATE_*, NORSK_LAUNCHED_BY_*). Recorded on the bundle at create and never changed by an update: a running container’s environment cannot change, so an edit would only reach the next launch while looking like a restart. Opaque to the Manager, which stores it and sends it on every job of the bundle. An empty field is a value the platform does not have. Protocol 1.8.

It also carries where the platform serves the production to a browser (runtime_url_base, protocol 1.9): not identity, but fixed at create for the same reason and needed by the same launch.

Where the platform serves this production’s runtimes to a browser, with no trailing slash: a path (norsk-mgr’s /bundles/<production>, which then works on whatever origin the browser reached norsk-mgr by) or an absolute URL. Replica <r>'s runtime <job> is at <runtime_url_base>/<r>/<job>; norsk-ctl bases the URL prefixes it hands the runtime (PUBLIC_URL_PREFIX, STUDIO_URL_PREFIX) on that, so the media and preview URLs a product publishes reach the browser through the platform rather than naming the worker.
